The world, two ways.
Meridian is a global media house built on a simple idea: that the same standards — clarity, rigour, craft — should apply whether you are reading about a central bank or a couture house.
We publish two mastheads from one newsroom. Meridian News covers world affairs, business, technology, science and climate, reported straight and without the clutter of the modern news web. Meridian Style covers fashion as culture — the runway, the trends, the people and the meaning underneath the clothes.
What we believe
Good journalism is signed. Every story we publish carries a real byline, linked to a real person with real expertise and a public record. We think the reader deserves to know who is telling them something, and why they should be trusted to tell it.
We are building toward a future where every story shows you who else is covering it — and where they sit on the spectrum — so you can read across the lines rather than within them. That layer is coming.
How we are funded
Meridian is supported by advertising and, in time, by readers who choose to subscribe to our newsletter and membership. We keep advertising clearly labelled and subordinate to the journalism. We do not let it write the stories.
The people
Soraya has sat front row from Paris to Seoul for over a decade. She writes about clothes as culture — who makes them, who wears them and what they say about the moment. She leads Meridian Style's runway, trends and culture coverage.
